Free Range Interior Design is a boutique interior design and interior architecture firm based on the Central Coast of California, in Ventura. With projects throughout the US, our mission at Free Range is to create beautiful, timeless, and cohesive designs unique to our clients and the environment in which we are building. We believe in a process-based design approach through transparency and collaboration with our clients and contractors, providing detailed documentation along the way. We strive to stay away from trends and design sustainably using natural materials and durable, high-quality products to last for generations. Free Range creates homes that are cozy, eclectic, and calming using earthy color palettes, natural textures, and metals that patina beautifully. Annie, the founder and principal designer of Free Range, grew up in Pittsburgh, PA among the beautiful East Coast foliage to an influential family that instilled in her a love for the cozy home, timeless design, and the natural beauty of landscape. In her adult life, she moved to Colorado where she studied architecture and later sustainable textile design at CU Boulder. Combining the two fields, she started her interior design career. While pursuing her passions, Annie spent any time out-of- office outside exploring the Rocky Mountains. After 10 years, Annie adventured to Jackson Hole, WY for a 6-month period gaining endless inspiration from her surroundings and starting Free Range Interior Design. At the end of 2022, Annie and her family moved to Ventura where they are now planting their roots. Her love of the outdoors, protecting the environment to last for generations and quality, thought-felt design are the pillars for which she operates Free Range Interior Design. Anything designed by Annie will be timeless, cozy, eclectic and unique with a beautiful combination of high alpine mountain interiors and laid-back California style.
